How do you get started using the Dawn Discovery Mission Independent Learner Guide?

There is more than one “right way” to start your exploration of the Dawn mission information. You may already have some questions about the Dawn mission that you wish to explore. If so, click on Questions, where we have identified some specific materials that will help you find answers. You may also use the Topic Guide to help you select from the available text materials, hands-on activities or interactive simulations.

In the Topic Guide, the Learner Guides for each major Strand are divided into five sections: Briefing, Exploration, Development, Interaction/Synthesis and Assessment. Although it is suggested that you follow this order as you work your way through, you may also “do it your way” and select the activities or sections that you find interesting from the Topic Guide menus.

Credit or No Credit?
If you are working on this material as part of a credit course, you will want to answer the questions at the end of each section and submit your answers for evaluation and credit as instructed by your facilitator. If you are just exploring the materials on your own, you may want to use the questions as a guide to determine whether or not you found the important ideas presented in the materials.
